I hope all is going well and your show season has been
fun and profitable. I’ve had a great year, and I’m super excited for whatever comes my way next.
It was eight years ago when I called the local comedy club and spoke to the owner about my company producing a magic show at his venue. After a few meetings and over a dozen phone calls, we decided to give it a shot. We picked a date for the first show and worked out the financials. We quickly got to work promoting the show, and although I was nervous at first, it all worked out great. The club sold 200 tickets for opening night, and Derby City Magic was born.
Every month three magicians would take the stage to amaze and amuse a family crowd. We even have sleight-of-hand magicians working in the lobby bar before the show. Who would have ever thought that a family friendly show would work in a comedy club? Over the years over 250 local, regional and touring magicians have been on the show.
It was a long run, but the show closed this month after eight years due to an ownership change at the club. In show business, these things happen, and hopefully, we will be running again once we meet and work out some important details I’ll also be meeting with the current DCM producer Frankie Foolya to see what exciting changes could help the show and also benefit the new owners. The key is to make sure we always give the audience an unforgettable experience. Stay tuned for exciting updates!
See you on stage!
