Louisville Kentucky magician Dennis Alm has been entertaining audiences with his unique brand of Comedy Magic for over 35 years. His Award Winning Show is a favorite among entertainment buyers throughout the country.
Dennis was bit by the magic bug after ordering his first mail order magic trick from the back of Life Magazine in 1970. It did not take him long to earn his first paycheck of $15.00 performing at a neighbors birthday party. At age 13, Dennis was invited to present a 15-minute segment on a local Saturday morning TV show in Louisville KY on W.A.V.E. 3 called The Friendship Shop. From there, and with the help of his mom, was booked for Scout Banquets, Schools Shows, and Birthday Parties. At 15, Dennis performed a series of shows at a local mall. These performances lead to more bookings and allowed Dennis to expand the show while also learning the business side of Show Business. This eventually led him to owning a magicians supply store in Louisville Kentucky. At night, Dennis would perform his act in restaurants and night clubs throughout town which gave him the exposure needed for continuous work as an entertainer.

A personal highlight for Dennis was performing for George H. Bush at a Fund Raising Gala for Senator Mitch McConnell in Lexington Kentucky. The Secret Service inspecting his prop case was a particularly funny but “serious” part of the event.
From 1992 – 2000 Dennis performed weekly at a small venue in Jeffersonville Indiana called the Madhouse of Mystery Theater. This was an intimate 85-seat theater where local and touring magicians performed weekly shows to hone their skills on stage. In 2001, Dennis was a Gold Medal Finalist of stage magic for the Society of American Magicians stage competition at their national convention in New Orleans. In 2007, Dennis took home the 1st Place Gold Medal from the Winter Carnival of Magic in Pigeon Forge Tennessee for stage magician of the year. Dennis currently produces the hit show “Derby City Magic” at the Comedy Caravan in Louisville KY. This family-friendly show is in its 4th year and showcases five comedy magicians each month at the Historical Comedy Club. In 2009, Dennis also co-produced a show called “Spellbound” at French Lick Resort Casino in French Lick Indiana. He convinced the resort to put up a record $11,000 cash prize for a people’s choice magic contest. Dennis hosted the event and showcased 18 unique magic acts competing for the large cash prizes. This show was brought about because of his already successful one man show at the resort called “English Parlor Magic” which played for sold out crowds at the casino from 2008- 2010.

In 2010,Dennis made his home in Branson MO performing in the show “Motown Downtown” at the Hot Hits Theater. In 2011, he was offered his own 90-minute show called “Dennis Alm Magic Champion” which played at 10am and 2pm at Hot Hits Theatre from March 1st through June 23rd.
Dennis is excited to open his new show “Theatre of Dreams” at the Brown County Playhouse in Nashville IN. The shows opens September 3rd and will run through November 2011.
